Greetings from the Organising Committee!

We are excited to extend a special invitation to you for the upcoming 2nd Annual conference of Society of Trauma Anaesthesia and Critical Care organized by Division of Trauma anaesthesia and critical care, Department of Anaesthesiology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, UP. The Scientific meeting will be conducted in the 1st week of October 2024 with pre-conference workshop on 4th October and conference on 5th & 6th October 2024 at Trauma Centre, IMS, BHU Varanasi.

Varanasi also Benares, Banaras or Kashi is a city on the banks of River Ganges in northern India that has a central place in the traditions of pilgrimage, death, and mourning in the Hindu world. Varanasi is one of the world's oldest continually inhabited cities. Varanasi was founded by Lord Shiva, one of three principal deities along with Brahma and Vishnu. The city has long been an educational and musical centre.

Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University's main campus is located on the southern edge of Varanasi, near the banks of the river Ganges. Banaras Hindu University maintains six institutes.

The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS-BHU), comprising three faculties and one college, is one of the perfect example of medical pluralism. The institute provides courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and diploma levels. It also has the Sir Sunderlal Hospital, and a Trauma centre and Super Speciality Hospital. Trauma Centre BHU is one of the largest level one trauma centre with state of art facilities.

Varanasi, often referred to as the spiritual capital of India, is not only renowned for its cultural heritage but also for its significance in the field of healthcare. Against the backdrop of this historic city, we aim to create the vital platform for healthcare professionals like you who are dedicated to enhancing trauma care, critical care for trauma patients and rehabilitation. We extend a warm welcome to all participants joining us for this important event. As an organization deeply committed to improving patient’s outcome in trauma situations, we are thrilled to bring together experts, practitioners, and researchers in this field to delve into the latest advancements in trauma anaesthesia and critical care, share invaluable insights, and foster meaningful discussions to enhance the quality of care provided to trauma patients.

A very thought-out scientific program has been planned to keep in line with new areas of discussion in Trauma Anaesthesia and Critical Care and many more topics of interest to suit the entire spectrum of attendees. We have renowned international and national faculty in the field of Trauma Anaesthesia and Critical Care to be part of this prestigious conference that will be part of the eminent faculty group.

ABOUT VARANASI

Varanasi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites. Along the city's winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the “Golden Temple,” dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

Trauma Centre Complex, IMS, BHU

The Trauma Centre, BHU was established in 2008 with the aim of providing world-class emergency medical care to the people of Varanasi and its surrounding areas. The centre is located within the campus of Banaras Hindu University and is easily accessible from all parts of the city.
